Kororoit students now have bigger, better classrooms and school facilities to learn in, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Kororoit Marlene Kairouz today announced that the $23.946 million capital works project at Victoria University Secondary College (Cairnlea campus) has recently reached practical completion, which includes:
- a new building for food technology and performing arts, which will incorporate a theatre, music rooms and a canteen/cafe.
- constructing new technology, science and maths facilities, including multimedia studios and spaces for collaborative learning.
- a new ‘learning village’ will incorporate modern classrooms with a central library, as well as sports fields and hard courts.
In the past seven years, the Victorian Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools and more than 1,700 school upgrades, creating around 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries. It is now ahead of schedule in its commitment to open 100 new schools by 2026, with 62 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and a quality education.
