Families in Melbourne’s growing western suburbs are a step closer to having an exciting new school close to home after a site was secured to build a future secondary and co-located specialist school in Aintree.
Member for Kororoit, Marlene Kairouz today announced land at Beattys Road, Aintree had been purchased for future delivery of the schools.
The 2021-22 State Budget also provided funding to purchase land and build new schools to meet growing population needs, including land and construction funding for Rockbank Murray Road Primary School (Interim Name), set to open in 2023.
Over the past seven years, the Victorian Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools and more than 1,700 school upgrades, creating around 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries.
It is ahead of schedule in its commitment to open 100 new schools by 2026, with 62 schools opening between 2019 and 2024.
The Victorian Government is building the Education State so that every student can receive a great education in their local area.
