Like it has done for the last five years, the Andrews Labor Government has been keeping its promises and delivering for Kororoit since it was re-elected 365 days ago.
Sunday 24 November marks one year since the last state election, when Victorians overwhelmingly voted for the Labor Government’s positive plan for a stronger, fairer Victoria.
Since then, we’ve been getting on with the policies and projects we promised for Kororoit – from building and upgrading local schools and hospitals, to delivering the road and rail projects locals need to get them home sooner.
We promised to get on with delivering great local schools for Kororoit and that’s exactly what we’re doing, with construction now underway on Rockbank North Primary School which is scheduled to open in 2021.
On top of our unprecedented $5.6 billion investment in new and upgraded schools, we’re also getting on with largest ever maintenance blitz across every single one of Victoria’s 1,500 government schools.
Students and teachers at Rockbank, Cairnlea Park, Deer Park West & North, Movelle, Albanvale, Kings Park and Burnside Primary along with Brookside P-9, Creekside K-9 and Lakeview Senior College will be benefiting from more than $1.1 million to ensure their classrooms are safe, modern and well maintained.
Early childhood learning can help shape a child’s entire future. But right now, too many kids are missing out on the benefits of early childhood education because of the cost. That’s why we’re preparing for the biggest-ever reform of early childhood education with the introduction of Three-Year-Old Kinder for every Victorian child.
We’re also building better kinders and training new kinder teachers, ensuring our youngest Victorians are ready for school – and set for life.
Nothing matters more than your health and the health of the people you love. That’s why we’re keeping our promise to deliver good healthcare close to home with planning underway as Western Health announced as the operator of Melton Hospital.
First time parents and their babies will now have access to a crucial Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the western suburbs when they need it at the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
From the roundabout at the end of your street to the biggest projects Victoria’s ever seen, we’re building a better transport network for Victoria – just like we said we would.
We’re building the Metro Tunnel to run more trains more often. We’re building the missing link in Melbourne’s road network by getting on with the North East Link. And we’re building the Westgate Tunnel – providing a vital alternative to the West Gate Bridge.
We’ve removed 30 of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings – with 75 gone for good by 2025 including three crossings at Robinsons Road and Mount Derrimut Road in Deer Park and Fitzgerald Road in Ardeer, getting people home to their families safer and sooner.
But we know our work doesn’t end there. This is the pace that must define our next three years and we won’t stop – Victoria’s future is relying on it.

“From a good local school, to transport you can rely on and quality healthcare when and where you need it – we’re investing in the things that matter for people in Kororoit and delivering for all Victorians.”
